Enter the Mayflash / TigerGame driver as the Alternative to XBCD.

The reason why we looked into the Mayflash / TigerGame driver is a few years back we did a blog about the original Xbox controller and how to get these relics from the past working on your Windows 10 box. It worked, however, it quickly became the most commented section on our blog and for those who commented there I want to say "Thank you!" Your input makes a very important impact on how we do things on our site, what works, and what doesn't. It's apparent that there are a lot of you guys out there that love your old-school hardware.

Razer Keyboard Repair Title.

Mechanical keyboard repair fun with the Razer Blackwidow Chroma 2014 edition.

Well, the day finally happened when it is time to service a Razer Blackwidow Chroma 2014 edition keyboard. For those who don't know what this type of keyboard is Razer makes a mechanical keyboard with the probable slogan "by gamers for gamers." It sounds so pretentious that they had to defend that statement in Popular Mechanics. However! My article is not going to bash the Razer keyboard because in this case, it was not Razer's fault. During this article, you will see the tear-down, diagnostics, and repair of just one Razer Blackwidow Chroma 2014 keyboard. Program complete and enter when ready. Read on!

Photoshop and Thermal Label Printing

Photoshop and thermal printing title.

How we use labels when printing with thermal printers around the home/office.

A while back I did an article about thermal printer repair and I want to show you how I actually use it with printing labels. In the previous article, I was mostly focused on what to look for when you're going through old equipment and how to repair some of these older but great machines, and all of the common defects that I have seen throughout the years. I still have my thermal printers and I use them for eBay. Lately, I had a reader e-mail me asking me what thermal programs do I use to print the labels that I do. Well, you're in luck. Because I want to show you how to make a terminal printer work for you. Read on.

YouTube – Round 2 – Censorship fight!

YouTube Rant Title.

Oh man, we can't just leave YouTube alone!

I have already published an article a while back about how YouTube's practices are terrible in terms of content creators with the classical slogan of "Where's the fair use?" Now for those who care you can check out that article before this one. But normally a company that does something inherently flawed and against its content creator base would attempt to fix the problem they started. At least I thought that was happening due to the last copyright claim that we fought (and won) on YouTube. But YouTube has decided instead of cooling down the situation that instead they're going to add some gasoline to the mix!

Kindle Fire 7″ 5th Gen Tablet

Kindle Fire 7" title for blog.

Kindle Fire 7" 5th gen tablet is kind of awesome.

I have to say the Kindle Fire 7" (5th generation) tablet is kind of awesome once you scrub all of the ads and Amazon itself out of it! Don't get me wrong the Amazon store for Android apps is always an impressive thing to have on your unit but when those very apps start bombarding you with ads for non-prime customers is the line that gets drawn in the sand for me.

Installing ADB driver for Ouya in Windows 10

Ouya ADB driver install for windows 10 title.

I can't find the "OUYA" for unknown devices to install the ADB driver!!!

You are not going insane in finding an ADB driver to install and this is not an error to my original tutorial about how to Mod the Ouya for Cyanogen tutorial. This problem directly ties into the "NEW and Improved" way windows 10 64-bit edition handles drivers and how outright malicious Microsoft has become by fulfilling their own drivers over hardware vendors they have no business in half-ass'edly supporting.

All of the documents and screen captures that I will be providing for you are accurate as of 4/27/2016 and when I originally made the Cyanogen tutorial I wanted this process to be as simple as possible. It's turning out that Microsoft has other plans about their OS and the way it works forcing bloggers like myself to constantly made addendum entries about the same tutorials. Read on if you want to learn more about this beautiful disaster.

XBCD – Original Xbox Controllers with Win10-8

XBCD title for blog.

XBCD - Getting those old controllers working again!

XBCD is an abbreviation for the "X-Box Controller Driver" Which has been around for almost as long as the Original Xbox Controllers themselves (approximately 2001-2003). As of 5/4/2017, the guide was updated to illustrate ways of installing these drivers which hopefully will answer the many questions that we get about them. This new method also no longer requires the test signing feature which also eliminates the requirement for UWD.exe which should make some of our subscribers happy.
