LBRY and Odysee – A video hosting review.

Wooo-boy here goes S reviewing another web3/crypto service!

You are absolutely right in the respect that we are reviewing a little site known as Odysee.com. A site that wants a piece of that sweet YouTube traffic out there but also has its own blockchain services powering it. We’ve been very critical about Web 3.0 services in the past such as PreSearch and now we really want Odysee to prove us wrong. After all, for those readers who come to my site, I’ve published article, after article, after article of YouTubes atrocities, and there came a point in our blogging career that frankly, we were sick of doing it because a blog is supposed to help you the reader. It’s supposed to offer an alternative to the wrongs that exist on the internet.

Is Odysee that solution? Is it here to save us from tyranny and censorship? Is Odysee also going to release us from the borderline Stockholm syndrome caused by YouTubes’ actions and decisions?

Short answer?

“Not entirely sure! Hopefully won’t bankrupt out like some other video server startups. Or it won’t get sued into oblivion.” – S

Video web crawlers and the Google Monopoly over them.

YouTube Monopoly Title

Happy 2021 – Web crawling only gives you YouTube first, last, and always.

Back in 2016, we made an article about asking YouTube “Where is the fair use?” which was a slogan that the Nostalgia Critic was behind as parodies and criticism of film and literature is a form of free speech. Despite all of the Drama-Lama action that his agent “Channel Awesome” happened which is beyond the scope of this article. The statement was a valid question to ask YouTube. To the point where we even got hit with a copyright strike over the song “William Tell” which is a classical music song that falls under the category of public domain.

Google’s uncommon downloads and where to find them.

Blog of S-Config Article Title Screen.

Slander from Google is fun kids!

Earlier this month we produced a blog article illustrating how we screwed up. It was simple, educational, and it really hits close to the homes of independent blogging and website building on how much goes through a single organization which is Google. More importantly, how many websites that piggy-back onto the giant and just happy accept their data as pure truth instead of questioning its overall legitimacy. From a scarier point of view the bots are doing exactly what they are programmed to do and in turn are becoming scape-goat for corporate greed.

To which if AI is going to take the fall for human corruption. Well! Guess that’s ANOTHER reason why robots should wipe us off of the face of the earth!

The point is we want to show you some classic Google incompetence and how everyone accepts this is as “just another day on the internet” when the more appropriate response should be outrage.

Have fun.

Have Fun! The title!

What is “Have fun” for 1000 and the win in the jeopardy championship? Well! This question comes from the social blades:

I have a serious question for @Twitch streamers (partnered or not): If you could give ONE piece of advice to another streamer or to someone who wants to start streaming, what would it be? I’ve heard enough from “stream coaches”. I want to know what the general consensus is.
Well! The answer is right in the title of this blog entry. “Have fun.” Your welcome. We make it painless here at S-Config.com.

Also, we’ve heard enough from “Stream Coaches” too. Is that even a real career path in life? It seems like if you utter the word “Stream Coach” on a social network suddenly you get 5-20 follows from automated “Stream Coaches.” It’s almost like uttering the word “SoundCloud” too loudly on Facebook or Twitter. Lol! It doesn’t matter! ;)

The question exceeds twitch and actually applies to any project you are working on the net. This is why this lowly blogger is going to intercept a said message that was designed and tailored only for the Twitch community and answer it in a more general sense. For those who aren’t interested in reading.

Sometimes, the best advice is always the shortest and perceptibly the easiest. Yet, we’ve seen people fail at doing this very thing. Including ourselves at times!

Read on if you want to see how people fail at these two little words.

YouTube – FTC – Think of the Children – Censorship – Round 3!

YouTube Censorship Round 3 title.

Aww geez! Not another YouTube rant!

It’s a time that as a blogger we address the proverbial elephant in the room. The last few things YouTube has done I’ve remained quiet about. Mostly in the respect that I’ve already said my piece about them and have suggested to people to try other outlets. From their de-monetization policy, a word that if you uttered 10 years ago people would scratch their heads and ask you “What the hell are you talking about?” To “Adpocalypse” and “AI mass deletion” to now with this whole “COPPA/FTA” ordeal. I feel it’s time to address these issues in an environment that YouTube nor Google cannot control.

This very blog. I should throw a small disclaimer that these are the opinions of S-Config.com. In such, you should do your own investigative research to form your own opinions on the subject matter. Don’t be a lemming!

The furry in us all.

Furry In Us All.

It’s time to get personal here about furry.

Oh man, he we go about talking about the furry fandom. This will probably be one of those blog articles that will be driven to the depths of the internet as it really doesn’t deal with technical ability or is all that exciting when it comes to graphics. But after watching a YouTube video about the Psychology of Furry Fandom 2015 . I felt it was appropriate to throw out my little commentaries and viewpoints about the fandom. Upon such note it is now disclaimer time:

Disclaimer: The thoughts, views, and opinions of this blogger does not represent the entire fandom and has no intention or will to represent the entire fandom. Any psychological, emotional, or physical damage that occurs when reading this cringe-tastic entry we at s-config.com are not responsible for.

YouTube – Round 2 – Censorship fight!

YouTube Rant Title.

Oh man, we can’t just leave YouTube alone!

I have already published an article a while back about how YouTube’s practices are terrible in terms of content creators with the classical slogan of “Where’s the fair use?” Now for those who care you can check out that article before this one. But normally a company that does something inherently flawed and against its content creator base would attempt to fix the problem they started. At least I thought that was happening due to the last copyright claim that we fought (and won) on YouTube. But YouTube has decided instead of cooling down the situation that instead they’re going to add some gasoline to the mix!
