Ambient RGB LED Lighting.

Ambient LED Lighting Title.

DIY fun with LED RGB Lighting.

LED RGB Lighting is almost like some project you put on Pinterest. But it’s going here because we make it! Screw image aggregate services that seek to control the internet. We wanted something in the living room for those nights where we want to relive music videos of girls putting up lipstick while a guy in a gimp suit dances in front of us. We’re both the ones with the makeup AND inside of the suit at the same time! More accurately in those music videos, they use 3-point lighting. Blue, Red, and a Natural white.

This latest blog entry deals with me getting all “basic-boi” and the simple fact that we didn’t want to go out and buy a 100+ US dollar Phillips RGB LED mood-light bulb for my living room. Probably also because we would have to be anywhere from two to four of them to which we’re sorry. Not paying $300+ for lights that just “set the mood.” Especially when I have a lot of the materials to make the lighting, to begin with. So let’s see if we can show you to the best of our abilities how to do this. Read on if you want to know more.

Initially, I did this mod in an attempt to alleviate Bluetooth lag on my Ouya joysticks as the chip-set that Ouya used carries both the Internet and Bluetooth traffic over the same wireless antenna. While it didn’t help with the Joystick reception. It did help considerably with wireless traffic.

The wireless Receiver for my Xbox 360 controller (Sometimes referred to as a wireless dongle) from China is one of those tools that has become more and more relevant in the gaming industry with console ports and couch co-ops. Unlike other types of electronics from China; Where it was inferior or simply nothing more than a piece of plastic or an identifier chip saying what it was but it did nothing at all. AirPlay on my Raspberry Pi

AirPlay on Raspberry Pi - Title.

AirPlay audio only on the Raspberry Pi

Airplay (or in previous revisions from apple this protocol was called “AirTunes”) audio is the ability to transmit audio from your smartphone device (The Apple I-phone does this natively and android users can actually download a plugin protocol for this) to another device which is hooked to a home stereo system. I know there are countless articles talking about how it’s done. But since this is my blog I sometimes use my blog as just a random dump on how I get things going so in case I forget with my countless other projects I don’t have to look for a particular site to show me how to get it working again. It’s just annoying to find a site that talks about it just to have it disappear on you. So! Without further delay, my short little guide on how it is done.
