Section 2: SSH and Samba on the Raspberry Pi.

Adding SSH and Samba onto the Raspberry Pi.

Now it’s time to add SSH and Samba. For those who do not know what that is. SSH is a secure shell system that allows us to remote into our pi from any computer capable of loading an SSH client such as PuTTY onto their system. SSH can also be used for FTP transfers as a way of uploading files such as apk’s and images to your Raspberry Pi so you can then access them via ADB to your Ouya. But instead of SSH-FTP, we’re also going to load Samba which is a windows network sharing protocol allowing us seamless transfers from our PC or MAC over wireless to our Raspberry Pi.

Now, for those who are using the Raspberry Pi as a desktop or don’t care to use it in a headless manner like we do having it hooked up in our living room to the Ouya. You can probably skip this tutorial all together! However, for those who are using it like a headless unit then read on as we provide all of the instructions down below.

Installing ADB driver for Ouya in Windows 10

I can’t find the “OUYA” for unknown devices to install the ADB driver!!!

You are not going insane in finding an ADB driver to install and this is not an error to my original tutorial about how to Mod the Ouya for Cyanogen tutorial. This problem directly ties into the “NEW and Improved” way windows 10 64-bit edition handles drivers and how outright malicious Microsoft has become by fulfilling their own drivers over hardware vendors they have no business in half-assed’ly supporting.

All of the documents and screen captures that I will be providing for you are accurate as of 4/27/2016 and when I originally made the Cyanogen tutorial I wanted this process to be as simple as possible. It’s turning out that Microsoft has other plans about their OS and the way it works forcing bloggers like myself to constantly made addendum entries about the same tutorials. Read on if you want to learn more about this beautiful disaster.

XBCD – Original Xbox Controllers with Win10-8

XBCD – Getting those old controllers working again!

XBCD is an abbreviation for the “X-Box Controller Driver” Which has been around for almost as long as the Original Xbox Controllers themselves (approximately 2001-2003). As of 5/4/2017 the guide was updated to illustrate ways of installing these drivers which hopefully will answer the many questions that we get about them. This new method also no longer requires the testsigning feature which also eliminates the requirement for UWD.exe which should make some of our subscribers happy. (Especially YOU TimmyP! Yeah, I didn’t forget you! UWD.exe is no longer needed! Your welcome! ;D )
