Welcome to our site I2P protocol users.

In a similar vein to Tor; I2P (Invisible Internet Project) is another style of encrypted network designed to communicate between machines in a private and anonymous way. It was originally brought to our attention via the many sites within the webring folders that as many of them are running their webpage on raspberry pi’s they too are also running their site with Tor and I2P protocols enabled. It was high time we got our shit together and did it too!

Imitation “Dark Web” Sites.

Not when they copy your every word and throw child porn banner ads all over it. That’s just being a dick!

From here on out we’re just going to refer to the (OOOooooOOOO! Hollywood Spooky Darkweb) and instead use its technical term of the “Tor/Onion” network because that’s predominantly where the cloning is happening.

The Hidden Wiki – Now with V3 onion goodness!

For anyone who has read articles in the past, this should come as no surprise of us reviewing a service such as the Hidden Wiki as they are on the “Spooky scary Dank-Web!”.

However, know that we are big fans of the Dark-Web services. In the age of “Big Tech” attempting to delegitimize the mass of the Clear-Net as a whole in taking unique websites and burying them in an SEO-hellscape. The dark web to us is a fresh start. Almost a reset button to the earlier years of the internet. Where concepts like “Web-Rings” would pass you the reader along to like-minded websites. The dark-web by its very design cannot be tracked and cataloged by major corporations (At least not yet!) This means that the Dark-Web for those who want to be vocal about their services can post their links to people who may not want to be tracked on their day-to-day usage of their computers.

First there was AV1. Now there’s AVIF

A while back during my video encoding sessions, I toyed with the concept of serving AV1 videos on my site. The results were not great out of respect that we could not find a great way of detecting the client’s capabilities of video decoding without writing some shitty JavaScript system to snoop around and break privacy rights all the way. However, there’s a branch of the Av1 system known as “AVIF” which is designed to use for still images. It boasts about getting better compression ratio’s to that of even WebP images that we discussed a while back.

Tor network privacy for the hyper-paranoid internet user.

Tor networks for those seeking privacy from the ever-creeping internet that seems to want to know about your privacy. And no, we’re not talking about the government/NSA. They have a hard enough time sending my taxes to the right mailbox. We’re mostly talking about corporate data farming. And how we fully support anything that keeps the browsing habits away from governments and corporations only interested in getting the most pay-click out of your site. Whenever you type something into a search engine and suddenly it responds with items that are local only to the area that is a company using your IP address location against you in the hopes that you’ll respond better to one of their ads. That in itself is manipulating the internet in some shitty marketing tactic. instead of opening the internet for the user.
