ArdunioDECK – a DIY OBS streaming solution on the cheap.

Arduino StreamDECK title.

OMG ArduinoDECK!

Marketing is an interesting thing; We could say that we’ve developed a new open-source product called “ArduinoDECK” which is a cheaper solution to the Elgato StreamDeck. Or! Better idea! We could just be honest and tell you that this is a basic boy Ardunio Pro-Micro / Leonardo / Due with a keyboard digital input program that we can learn early on in our micro-controller programming hobby. Yeah, let us go with the second explanation. We should throw a disclaimer because we love you. This is our first time playing with the world of Arduino. So if our code sucks or if our terminology is wrong. Drop a comment below. We’ll appreciate you telling us and will correct it as best as we can. Read on if you want to know more.

Mayflash Tigergame Xbox joystick driver.

Mayflash Original Xbox Driver Installation Tutorial title.

Enter the Mayflash / TigerGame driver as the Alternative to XBCD.

The reason why we looked into the Mayflash / TigerGame driver is a few years back we did a blog about the original Xbox controller and how to get these relics from the past working on your Windows 10 box. It worked, however, it quickly became the most commented section on our blog and for those who commented there I want to say “Thank you!” Your input makes a very important impact on how we do things on our site, what works, and what doesn’t. It’s apparent that there are a LOT of you guys out there that love your old-school hardware.

Ouya and AOSP Android 5.0 Kodi Krypton

Android 5.0 Ouya title.

Keeping your Ouya alive with Android 5.0

I wished that the Android 5.0 scene on the Ouya matured a little more prior to making this tutorial. Upon originally doing the CyanogenMod tutorial. I came to the realization of being hit with walls of bugs, questions, and comments which most of them I frankly couldn’t answer. However, with the crushing progression of Kodi/XBMC moving onwards towards v17 Krypton. People are asking for a tutorial on how to make their Ouya still relevant.

Make WordPress default to WebM first. MP4 and OGV last!

WebM default WordPress video title.

WordPress does not want to default to WebM out of the box.

Since I did a blog about WebP minus well do one about WebM. As some of you may know that I run a hybrid video/regular blog we use WebM because it’s the latest and greatest. Back when I was running with the Angular theme that included its own version of MediaPlayer.js and all was good because the WebM files were being referenced first and foremost. That changed when I reverted back to a more standard WordPress theme that relied on the out-of-the-box MediaPlayer.js which is totally fine except for one problem.

Default WordPress HTML5 video player grabs MP4’s first. Not WebM.

Li-Ion Battery for controllers title.

Li-Ion Batteries and multiple game controllers.

Okay, I have already done a Li-Ion Batteries in a controller article just dedicated to the Xbox controller. We’re pleased to report that despite the only controller in our house. That was an original launch Xbox 360 controller. That the Li-Ion Battery packs have been operational. But what about a simpler non-destructive approach to using Li-Ion batteries? Not just in Xbox controllers but in all other controllers?

Read on for a simpler solution for Lithium battery integration.

Netgear WNDR3700v2 7dbi antenna mod – nope!

Netgear wndr3700v2 title for blog

I performed the Netgear WNDR3700v2 7dbi antenna mod and I got some bad news.

I decided that I was going to do some upgrades to my Netgear WNDR3700v2 router with a 7dbi antenna mod which I bought off of eBay. This blog entry is to post my findings for all as a warning that the days of adding bigger antennae to a balanced “N” router is over. At least without some serious re-soldering of pads and possibly some legit 5ghz antennas. Read more to see the brutal details.

Kindle Fire 7″ 5th Gen Tablet

Kindle Fire 7" title for blog.

Kindle Fire 7″ 5th gen tablet is kind of awesome.

I have to say the Kindle Fire 7″ (5th generation) tablet is kind of awesome once you scrub all of the ads and Amazon itself out of it! Don’t get me wrong the Amazon store for android apps is always an impressive thing to have on your unit but when those very apps start bombarding you with ads for non-prime customers is the line that gets drawn in the sand for me.

Installing ADB driver for Ouya in Windows 10

Ouya ADB driver install for windows 10 title.

I can’t find the “OUYA” for unknown devices to install the ADB driver!!!

You are not going insane in finding an ADB driver to install and this is not an error to my original tutorial about how to Mod the Ouya for Cyanogen tutorial. This problem directly ties into the “NEW and Improved” way windows 10 64-bit edition handles drivers and how outright malicious Microsoft has become by fulfilling their own drivers over hardware vendors they have no business in half-ass’edly supporting.

All of the documents and screen captures that I will be providing for you are accurate as of 4/27/2016 and when I originally made the Cyanogen tutorial I wanted this process to be as simple as possible. It’s turning out that Microsoft has other plans about their OS and the way it works forcing bloggers like myself to constantly made addendum entries about the same tutorials. Read on if you want to learn more about this beautiful disaster.

XBCD – Original Xbox Controllers with Win10-8

XBCD title for blog.

XBCD – Getting those old controllers working again!

XBCD is an abbreviation for the “X-Box Controller Driver” Which has been around for almost as long as the Original Xbox Controllers themselves (approximately 2001-2003). As of 5/4/2017, the guide was updated to illustrate ways of installing these drivers which hopefully will answer the many questions that we get about them. This new method also no longer requires the test signing feature which also eliminates the requirement for UWD.exe which should make some of our subscribers happy.
