Google’s uncommon downloads and where to find them.

Slander from Google is fun kids!

Earlier this month we produced a blog article illustrating how we screwed up. It was simple, educational, and it really hits close to the homes of independent blogging and website building on how much goes through a single organization which is Google. More importantly, how many websites that piggy-back onto the giant and just happy accept their data as pure truth instead of questioning its overall legitimacy. From a scarier point of view the bots are doing exactly what they are programmed to do and in turn are becoming scape-goat for corporate greed.

To which if AI is going to take the fall for human corruption. Well! Guess that’s ANOTHER reason why robots should wipe us off of the face of the earth!

The point is we want to show you some classic Google incompetence and how everyone accepts this is as “just another day on the internet” when the more appropriate response should be outrage.

Read on if you want to know more.

Have fun.

Have Fun! The title!

What is “Have fun” for 1000 and the win in the jeopardy championship? Well! This question comes from the social blades:

I have a serious question for @Twitch streamers (partnered or not): If you could give ONE piece of advice to another streamer or to someone who wants to start streaming, what would it be? I’ve heard enough from “stream coaches”. I want to know what the general consensus is.
Well! The answer is right in the title of this blog entry. “Have fun.” Your welcome. We make it painless here at S-Config.com.

Also, we’ve heard enough from “Stream Coaches” too. Is that even a real career path in life? It seems like if you utter the word “Stream Coach” on a social network suddenly you get 5-20 follows from automated “Stream Coaches.” It’s almost like uttering the word “SoundCloud” too loudly on Facebook or Twitter. Lol! It doesn’t matter! ;)

The question exceeds twitch and actually applies to any project you are working on the net. This is why this lowly blogger is going to intercept a said message that was designed and tailored only for the Twitch community and answer it in a more general sense. For those who aren’t interested in reading.

Sometimes, the best advice is always the shortest and perceptibly the easiest. Yet, we’ve seen people fail at doing this very thing. Including ourselves at times!

Read on if you want to see how people fail at these two little words.

It appears we screwed up.

Yes, it’s true. We can screw up. We’re pros at it!

In this chapter, we are swept away by tornadoes and dropped off somewhere in Jersey. It’s a serious fear for those who live in the great American mid-west. For those who aren’t following our social networks, we made the switch from Apache to NGinx. Why do you ask? Because after doing a lot of research combined with the fact that a lot of my favorite decentralized programs such as Mastodon using the Nginx platform. It seemed reasonably powerful to give it a go. For the most part, the migration was a success! But like all things new you tend to get a little crazy with configuration and sometimes screw up!

To those who were wondering why things were silent for a bit. Well, there you go! Just table-flipping the website once again! Would you like to know more?

So you want to start a blog?

Start A Blog Title.

Start a blog? In this day and age? What the hell man?!?

Perhaps one of the three readers might be interested in our advice on how to start a blog. To learn from the mistakes/failures we’ve made so that you can be an even better blogger. Perhaps even some of the success that we’ve had too. It’s been now five and a half years since we’ve opened this site and to this date, we couldn’t be happier with the majority of the decisions made here. So, instead of giving little bits of information like “download WordPress” this article is to approach all aspects of what it takes to be at least a proficient blogger. We can’t say professional bloggers as that would involve making money. But proficient is the next best thing in our opinions. Let’s begin!

Moving to 7-zip.

7-Zip Title.

7-Zip conversion is now in effect.

We have decided to proceed with the move converting any archived files into the 7-zip or .7z extension. The reason for this move is to help with getting users the files they need faster. This blog is ready to try new technologies to make communication faster. Thus, 7-zip will be a welcome addition. As an added side-effect transitioning to 7-zip will help with the backups and overall optimization.

SSL for bloggers

SSL for the extra paranoid blogger!

SSL is an acronym of (Secure Socket Layer) and is commonly used on a website whenever confidential information is passed between the client and the server under the HTTPS protocol. Commonly, SSL is used for E-Commerce because you know, credit card data security is kind of important!

But if it’s for commerce why really have it on a WordPress site that sells nothing? What the hell S? What are you doing wasting perfectly good money on a protocol that has no benefit to you what so ever!?!?!

Oh, but it does! And for those with the cash to do it benefits just about any blogger! Read on if you want to know more.

Theme tableflip!

We have changed the theme to this site. Prey we do not change it again.

Today we have decided to completely table-flip the WordPress theme on our site. The Angular theme by kriesi was good for its time but if you could tell from the blog posts about all of the CSS and JS I was writing I was finding myself re-writing major parts of the theme just to get it to conform to today’s standards of the web. The straw the finally broke my back as it was involved wanting a slightly larger resolution and maybe even changing and/or transparent backgrounds only to have it glitch out or crash the moment we begin writing the CSS.

Anyhow, for those interested keep reading. For those who don’t care. Enjoy a faster site with less JavaScript action then before!

WEBM, OGV, and MP4 – WordPress video

Encoding with WEBM, OGZ, and MP4 and wordpress title.

WebM and the things WordPress was hiding from me.

Originally, I was going to an article on just WebM and the advantages it gives me in WordPress. But as I looked at the logs on my server and WordPress still has a lot of work to do on their video insertion plugin.

Social Network B-Gone! Website Clean Up pt.2

website cleanup part 2 title

Social Network B-Gone. Some basic CSS to clean the angular theme.

I’ve made the decision to eject all social network outbound links to appear on every page of my website. This took some doing as I had to page through a lot of the Angular theme forums to ultimately find out Which CSS code controlled the very top section of my page. I had to modify my custom.css file which was found in the theme home directory underneath ./css and added the following lines.
